A remarkable scene awaits you when you round the bend and see the houses hanging on the edge of a cliff. Founded by the Arabs as long ago as the 11th century, its name means ‘sand bowl’ and is probably a reference to the ceramic tradition they started and which continues today. In the same area you can find the friendly village of El Pilar and the valley of Cariatiz is only 20 minutes from the sea and this has made it popular lately. Its small hamlets offer a wonderful setting for a new house built in a traditional style and let you be a part of traditional country life.
